Materials:

Instructions:
1. Download the Cat Craft Template PDF.
2. Print the cat craft template on copy paper or card stock.
2. Students color each piece with markers or crayons. Encourage students to experiment with different color combinations use whatever colors they like. They can use contrasting colors, complementary hues, or even subtle pastels to color their cats. See which combinations appeal to them most.
As students decide which colors to use, they naturally explore basic concepts of color theory. Teachers can use this activity to introduce ideas like warm versus cool colors, complementary colors, and the mood that different colors evoke.
3. Cut around the outline of each piece.
4. Glue the pieces together. Every student will put their cat template together differently adding interest when they are all displayed together!
After you are done, display the cats around the classroom and on the bulletin board.
You can also tape a straw or a popsicle stick to the back of the cat to make a cute cat puppet that kids will love!
