Baa, Baa Black Sheep Lyrics

Baa, baa black sheep

Have you any wool?

Yes sir, yes sir

Three bags full!

One for my master

One for my dame

And one for the little boy

Who lives down the lane

Baa, baa black sheep

Have you any wool?

Yes sir, yes sir

Three Bags Full!

Where is Thumbkin

Today’s lyrics are to the young children’s song, Where is Thumbkin.  This song helps young kids become familiar with the names of their fingers.

Music & Movement

Traditionally, a peek-a-boo-ish activity goes along with this song.  Hide your fingers and hands behind your back, then introduce a finger from one hand, then the other, as you sing each verse.

Where is Thumbkin Lyrics

Just in time for Halloween is today’s featured song, Skin and Bones, written by Raffi.

This cute Halloween song is just a little bit spooky but mostly fun!

skin and bonesSkin and Bones Lyrics

There was and old woman all skin and bones, OOOOOOOOO

She lived down by the old grave yard, OOooooOOoooo

One night she thought she’d take a walk, OOOooooOOoooo

She walked down by the old grave yard, OOooooOOoooo

She saw the bones a’ laying around, OOooooOOoooo

She went to the closet to get her broom, OOooooOOoooo

She opened the door and BOOO!

There Was A Tree

tree imageI first heard this song way back when I was a summer camp counselor.  It’s traditionally a camp song but I think it would also be super fun to sing at school.

Coordinating all the different movements and lyrics might be a little bit challenging, so this may be better for older kids, but I think the younger kiddos will still get a kick out of the crazy tounge-twisting lyrics and fast paced energy this song creates.

The further into the song you get, the faster you sing the recap.  It gets really crazy at the end as everyone tries to keep up!

There Was A Tree Lyrics

There was a tree (there was a tree)

The prettiest little tree (the prettiest little tree)

That you ever did see (that you ever did see)

And the tree was in the ground

And the green grass grew all around, all around

And the green grass grew all around!
And on that tree (and on that tree)

There was a limb (there was a limb)

The prettiest little limb (the prettiest little limb)

That you ever did see (that you ever did see)

And the limb was on the tree

And the tree was in the ground

And on that limb (and on that limb)

There was a branch (there was a branch)
